Here are some answers to questions I am frequently asked. If you still have a query please contact me.

How can I make an appointment?

Please call 07791 416839 to make an appointment.

How long will a session last?

Each treatment session will last up to 40 minutes.

How much does it cost?

The first session costs £40 and any subsequent sessions cost £35. All appointments after 6pm cost £40.

Do you have any evening appointments?

I usually work until 9.00 on two evenings a week but my working hours are flexible so do contact me to discuss what time suits you.

Will I have to undress?

You will be asked to remove some of your clothing so the osteopath can examine you properly. If you are uncomfortable about this do discuss it with me. A towel can be provided or you may bring along some loose shorts to wear. Alternatively you can ask a friend or relative to accompany you during your treatment.

What do you treat?

Patients consult with a wide variety of conditions including:

If you are unsure whether osteopathy is suitable for you do call me and we can discuss whether I can help your symptoms.

Can I claim with my private health insurance?

I am covered by many insurance companies. The best way to find out is to contact them prior to coming to see me and enquire whether you would be covered. Sometimes they require a referral from your G.P which usually needs to be done before you attend for your first treatment.

Does it hurt?

Sometimes soft tissue treatment can cause mild discomfort during treatment. You will be told what to expect, and I will want you to let me know if you are in pain.  You may feel a little stiff or sore after treatment. This is a normal, healthy response to the treatment.

Do I need to see my doctor first?

If you are paying for your own treatment you do not need to see your doctor first. However, some insurance companies do require you to see your doctor before coming for treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments you need varies depending on the condition and the person I am treating. I aim to keep your appointments to a minimum and will be able to tell you within a short period of time how many treatments I expect it to take to resolve your symptoms.

Do you do home visits?

I have a portable treatment table so am able to visit patients in their home. This is generally only for people who are unable to come to the practice due to the extent of their pain. The cost of a home visit is more than at my practice due to travelling time but do contact me to discuss this.
